This workshop is designed to help individuals navigate anxiety in a practical way. \nSession 2: Depression and Cancer: Recognizing the Signs-July 30 \nWhile feelings of sadness\, fear\, and uncertainty are normal\, persistent or worsening emotional distress may signal depression. This presentation explores the often-overlooked connection between cancer and depression\, and emphasizing the importance of early recognition and intervention. \n\n\nSpeaker: Dr. Scott Irwin is currently the Director of Cedars-Sinai Cancer’s Patient and Family Support Program and a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences within Cedars-Sinai Health System. He also serves as a consultant to two medical corporations and industry. His career mostly focuses on improving outcomes for those with cancer or other progressive\, potentially life-limiting illnesses\, and their families\, through leading-edge clinical services\, ongoing research\, as well as program development\, improvement\, and implementation.
