Jeannie Rabin – Reiki
After having struggled with a chronic debilitating condition known as Fibromyalgia for nearly 17 years, I’d discovered energy medicine when a spiritual healer miraculously healed me in 2011. This healing awakened me and started me on a spiritual journey and path to energy healing.
I first found Reiki in 2013 and shortly after became certified as Master/Teacher. I’ve steadily practiced Reiki ever since. I lead on-going monthly Reiki workshops here at the Cancer Support Community and at the Goebel Adult Community Center in Thousand Oaks. I teach Reiki levels I, II, and III certification courses and offer private in-person, distance, and group Reiki sessions. I also perform Reiki on animals.
I love working with and sharing Reiki energy and its principles. I’m honored to be sharing Reiki with the Cancer Support Community. My wish is for everyone to have the opportunity to experience the healing benefits of Reiki energy.
Paula Getty-Shearer – Relaxation and Guided Imagery
Paula Getty-Shearer is a former Cancer Support Community participant who has been facilitating guided imagery programs since 2006. As a certified hypnotherapist since 2004 Paula combines her extensive hypnotherapy and guided imagery training along with her personal experience to assist numerous cancer patients, their families and caregivers. She aids patients in reducing anxiety, facilitates healing, and helps ease cancer treatment side effects. Her goal is to help patients find peace and maintain optimism throughout the cancer experience.
Beth Cook & Phyllis Paul – Chair Yoga
Calm, restore, & rebalance body, mind, and spirit through yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation. This therapeutic, integrative class for people effected by cancer encourages participants of all practice levels to mindfully explore the healing effects of yoga practice for symptom relief from cancer and cancer treatment, flexibility & strengthening, and overall management of the pressures of daily life.
Beth Cook (retired speech therapist) is a certified Therapeutic Yoga Instructor through Yoga Alliance. She has taught gentle yoga and led retreats for twenty+ years since accessing yoga herself during breast cancer.
Phyllis Paul is a certified Yoga Instructor and certified Relax and Renew Instructor. She has been teaching yoga since 2007 through different community centers including the Goebel Adult Center.
