IN-PERSON SUPPORT GROUP: Sleep Reset

November 11 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Program Type: Sleep Reset: Building Healthier Sleep Patterns After Cancer

Day & Time: Wednesdays October 7th – November 11th from 12:00pm-1:30pm (6 sessions)

Location: Cancer Support Community Office 4195 Thousand Oaks Blvd., #107, Westlake Village 91362

Sleep problems are common among cancer survivors. Even after treatment ends, sleep difficulties can persist due to side effects, changes in daily routines, stress, worry, and physical symptoms. Poor sleep can affect energy, mood, concentration, quality of life, and the ability to fully enjoy life after cancer.

Sleep Reset is a supportive, six-week program designed specifically for cancer survivors experiencing ongoing sleep difficulties. This group offers practical tools to help participants understand their sleep patterns and develop healthier patterns that support restorative sleep. It also provides an opportunity to connect with others who understand the challenges of sleep after cancer. Through sharing and mutual support, participants can learn from one another and feel less alone.

Kayo Matsumoto is the Program & Clinical Director at Cancer Support Community VVSB and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience in psychosocial oncology. She has provided individual counseling and facilitated support groups for people affected by brain tumors, breast and gynecologic cancers, as well as MBSR and children’s and parents’ support groups.
