Workshop Description:
The annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) is the most attended annual breast cancer meeting in the world, bringing the latest advances in breast cancer research to over 8000 attendees. Dr. Kapoor will be sharing recent highlights from this important symposium with a practical approach that will be accessible to anyone interested in learning more about this leading cause of cancer in our society. Updates on breast cancer prevention, detection, treatment, and future research will be provided.
About the Presenter:
Nimmi S. Kapoor, MD, FACS, is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed both a general surgery residency and a cancer research fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell. During this time, she received advanced Breast Surgical Oncology training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Kapoor also completed a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at both John Wayne Cancer Institute and Cedars-Sinai. She has attained certification in Cancer Genetics and Risk through the City of Hope and Oncoplastic Surgery training through the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She worked for Cedars Sinai for several years before joining UCLA in 2023. Her office is located at UCLA—Encino.
