Workshop Description:
The season of picnics, BBQs and graduation parties is approaching. To safely enjoy outdoor fun, now is a good time to remind ourselves of ways to prevent skin cancer. Skin cancer, including melanoma, is one of the most frequently diagnose cancers in the US. In this workshop Dr. Julian R. Davis will give a broad overview of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of melanoma, including dramatic advances in therapy of advanced/metastatic melanoma over the past decade.
About the Presenter:
Dr. Julian Davis is a medical oncologist & hematologist who practices in Santa Barbara. He sees patients with all types of cancer, with a specialized interest in hematologic malignancies, melanoma and clinical trials. He is board certified in hematology, medical oncology and
internal medicine. Dr. Davis completed his fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the University of California Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland.
